Citroen’s C3 was introduced to Australia in 2002 as a purported spiritual reincarnation of the famous post-war 2CV. The distinctive, rounded C3 is light-car in size, dearer than Korean and Japanese contenders but quite substantial in feel and presentation. The five-door hatch is available in 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrol form, or as a 1.6-litre turbodiesel and drives through five-speed manual or four-speed auto transmissions. The manual-only 1.4-litre single-cam petrol engine used in the entry SX develops 57kW and 115Nm. Standard in all C3s are dual front and front side airbags, ABS, air-conditioning and six-speaker CD audio.
