Fiat’s ultra-cute 500 is so compact a Mazda2 suddenly looks big. No surprise that it’s no four-passenger interstate cruiser. The tiny three-door is true to its roots as a mini urban runabout that is quick and handy in traffic. Power comes from 1.2 or 1.4-litre petrol engines, or a 1.3-litre turbodiesel: 1.2 and 1.3-litre engines offer five-speed manual or automated Dualogic transmission, while the 1.4’s manual goes to six speeds. The 1.4-litre engine produces 74kW and 131Nm. The Lounge version adds specific alloy wheels, automatic climate control, a fixed glass sunroof and a chrome trim pack to Sport specification.
