Fiat’s Ritmo launched here in February 2008 as a Euro contender in the crowded small car segment. The five-door hatch is clearly related to the smaller Punto in terms of style but offers better interior space while taking the punt on diesel power only, in 1.4 and 1.9-litre form. It combines Italian road dynamics with styling flair. The bigger 1.9-litre turbodiesel is familiar in the Punto, producing in this case 110kW and 305Nm and driving through a six-speed manual gearbox.
