Holden's billion-dollar VE Commodore launched in August 2006, bringing new levels of sophistication, safety, dynamics, comfort, space and style. Depending on model, engine options include 180kW/330Nm and 195kW/340Nm versions of the 3.6-litre V6, as well as a thumping 6-litre 270kW/530Nm V8. Stability and traction control are standard at all levels, as are six airbags. Sitting on the VE top-shelf is the Calais V, above regular Calais models with the additions of a rear-seat DVD player, leather trim, power for both front seats and a nine-speaker sound system.
