The iMax is a groovy, eight-seat people mover based on the Hyundai iLoad commercial van. The commercial roots don?t mean it feels like a van on the road. Seating arrangements are two, three, three and there's plenty of space behind the rearmost seat (851 litres). Powerplants are the same 2.4-litre 129kW/228Nm petrol engine and torque-laden 2.5-litre 125kW/392Nm turbodiesel used in the iLoad, along with the option, in the turbodiesel, of a five-speed automatic transmission. ABS, stability control and dual front airbags make an appearance on the iMax, as do 16-inch alloys, dual-zone air-conditioning and six-speaker CD audio.

iLoad and iMax now fully loaded for 2011

Hyundai's popular van range adds more tech to its 2011 range

Hyundai has gone from strength-to-strength with its commercial iLoad and passenger iMax range since its local debut in 2008, winning numerous awards from the Australian automotive press -- including a podium finish in the 2010 Carsales People's Choice Awards.

Now loaded with new safety and convenience features for all 2011 models, that success story is sure to continue.

Both models are now equipped with Bluetooth telephony and audio streaming, and full iPod integration across the range, while passenger-carrying iMax models also come standard with the added peace of mind of electronic stability control (ESC) and traction control, bolstering the van's already impressive four-star ANCAP safety rating.

Hyundai iMax and iLoad models are also fitted with a suite of active and passive safety features including four-channel, four-sensor anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, dual front airbags and three-point retractable seat belts for all occupants.

The colour palette for iMax is now extended to five (Ceramic White, Hyper Silver, Titanium Grey, Space Black and Blue Diamond) with its commercial sibling iLoad now offered in a choice of eight colours (Ceramic White, Hyper Silver, Titanium Grey, Space Black, Blue Diamond, Blue Sapphire, Dynamic Yellow and Super Red).
